About Valiant Roofing in Felida

Local Company, In-House Crews, Long-Term Accountability

Valiant Roofing , LLC has served Clark County homeowners from our Vancouver headquarters at 108 SE 124th Ave since our founding. We earned Owens Corning Platinum Preferred status by meeting rigorous standards for licensing, insurance, financial stability, and customer satisfaction, a designation held by fewer than 1% of contractors nationwide. This partnership grants us access to Owens Corning’s best warranties and premium product lines, which we pass directly to Felida homeowners.

We’re not a franchise pushing corporate scripts or a fly-by-night crew working under questionable licensing. We’re a locally operated company with in-house employees who live in the communities we serve. Many of our crew members have worked alongside each other for years, building consistency and quality into every project.

Our Mission: Transparency, Craftsmanship, and Communication

Our mission centers on transparency, craftsmanship, and communication. We never cut corners. Every project is completed with thorough workmanship and a commitment to quality and safety. We are dedicated to clear communication throughout every project, keeping you informed and confident from start to finish. We believe residential roofing should never feel like a mystery or a pressure sale.

What you can expect on every Felida project

• Every estimate is written, detailed, and explained in plain language
• Every installation is documented with photos from start to finish using CompanyCam technology
• Every warranty is provided in writing with clear terms for both workmanship and materials

Built for Clark County’s Pacific Northwest Climate

Why that matters for homeowners: When you call Valiant Roofing for a Felida project, you’re working with licensed professionals who answer to Washington and Oregon regulatory boards and stand behind their work long after the final payment clears.

Clark County’s climate demands roofing expertise specific to the Pacific Northwest. We don’t install Florida techniques or Texas materials here.

How we build roofs for Felida conditions

• Ventilation strategies that prevent moisture buildup in wet winters
• Shingles designed for algae resistance in damp conditions
• Flashing methods that withstand windblown rain

Local code and inspection experience

Our teams understand local code requirements, work comfortably with Clark County building inspectors, and know which shortcuts to never take because we’ve seen the consequences in attics across Felida.

Why Homeowners in Felida Choose Valiant Roofing

Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor

Top 1% Nationwide

Owens Corning Platinum Preferred status is not given lightly. Contractors must prove consistent quality, maintain pristine licensing and insurance, demonstrate financial stability, and earn exceptional customer satisfaction scores year after year. Valiant Roofing meets these standards, which grants us exclusive access to Owens Corning's most comprehensive warranties, including options for 50-year coverage on both materials and workmanship.

What this means for Felida homeowners

When we install an Owens Corning Duration or Oakridge shingle system, you are not just getting our promise. You are getting one of North America's largest building materials manufacturers standing behind the product. If a defect arises, if materials fail prematurely, or if craftsmanship does not hold up, you have recourse through multiple channels. This matters enormously in an industry where fly-by-night operators disappear after collecting payment.

Ongoing training required

Our Platinum status also requires ongoing training. Owens Corning regularly updates installation techniques, introduces new products, and refines best practices based on field performance data collected across thousands of roofs nationwide. We attend training sessions, earn certifications on new materials, and implement the latest manufacturer recommendations immediately. You benefit from this continuous education every time our crews step onto a Felida roof.

"I had a small leak in my roof above the garage. Valiant Roofing fixed the leak very quickly for a fair price... I totally recommend them. I really like the fact that they are a Owens Corning (OC) Platinum Preferred Contractor, offer material and workmanship up to 50 years and have in-house crews."

Transparent Communication & Documentation

Roofing happens above your head, out of sight, often while you are at work. We solve this visibility problem with CompanyCam photo documentation. Our crews photograph every stage of your project, including: Pre-existing conditions, Decking after tear-off, Underlayment installation, Shingle placement, Flashing details, Valley work, Ridge cap installation, and Final cleanup.

Written Estimates, No Surprises

These photos are shared with you through a simple online portal so you can see exactly what we did, even if you never climbed a ladder. We are committed to clear communication at every stage of your residential roofing project, ensuring you are always informed and confident in our process. From the first call to schedule an inspection through final payment and warranty registration, we keep you informed.

Communication you can count on

You will receive a detailed written estimate explaining every line item, what we are doing, why we are doing it, and what it costs. If unexpected damage appears during tear-off, such as rotted decking, we call immediately, show you photos, explain options, and adjust the estimate transparently. No surprises. No hidden fees. No pressure tactics.

"Valiant replaced my roof. The customer service was outstanding. The job was done well and as planned. I was provided status updates from to finish. I would definitely hire them again!"

In-House Crews & Quality Control

When you hire Valiant Roofing , the team that shows up works for us full-time, receives benefits through our company, undergoes background checks, and knows their job security depends on customer satisfaction and workmanship quality.

The problem with subcontractor models

Subcontractor models introduce variables we cannot accept. Subbed crews often rush to maximize jobs per week, cut corners to preserve profit margins on per-job contracts, and vanish when callbacks arise. Our in-house model eliminates these issues and ensures the same team handles your roof replacement from start to finish.

Consistency built from local experience

Every crew member is trained on Owens Corning installation standards. Every team has a project manager who inspects work at critical stages. The same teams who installed 100+ roofs last year in Clark County neighborhoods are the ones climbing onto Felida homes this year.

"Valiant Roofing did such a great job for me! I live in the Gorge where we get tremendous wind. Valiant came out at midnight to reenforce my new roof before a storm. They are very customer focused and did a great job!"

Thorough Cleanup & Property Respect

Roofing is messy. Shingle debris, nails, packaging materials, and dust accumulate quickly during tear-off and installation. As a leading roofing company in Felida, WA , we are committed to keeping the worksite clean throughout the roofing process.

Cleanup steps we follow

We perform magnetic nail sweeps across your entire property multiple times throughout the project. We use tarps to protect landscaping, siding, windows, and outdoor furniture from falling debris. Dumpsters are staged strategically to minimize mess and noise disruption, followed by end-of-day cleanup so your property looks presentable even mid-project.

Final cleanup and walk-through

Final cleanup includes hauling all materials, sweeping driveways and walkways, and conducting a detailed property walk with you to verify satisfaction. Respect extends beyond cleanup. Our teams park considerately, minimize noise during early morning or late afternoon hours when possible, and treat your home as if it were their own.

"They were very fast and professional, they did a great job cleaning up after the installation and I'm very satisfied with the quality of the work."

Roof Inspections in Felida : What to Expect

How Valiant Roofing Conducts a Roof Inspection

We inspect the full roofing system , including the roof surface and attic when accessible. Our inspectors use proper safety gear and tools like moisture meters, and sometimes thermal imaging, to spot hidden leaks. We check shingles for wear or storm damage, inspect flashing at chimneys, skylights, and vents, review valleys and ventilation, and look in the attic for stains, mold, damp insulation, and airflow issues.

Most inspections take 45 to 90 minutes. You receive a photo documented report with clear findings, priority recommendations, and cost guidance if repairs or replacement planning is needed.

Darrien took lots of pictures inside the attic, and around the roof. When he was done with his inspection he sent me a file with all the pictures and descriptions of everything going on with the roof. 10/10 would recommend!

Common Findings in Felida

Felida roofs often show moss growth, algae staining, poor attic ventilation in older homes, and worn flashing around chimneys and skylights. These issues can lead to moisture buildup and leaks , especially during wind driven rain.

Common Issues Found During Roof Inspections

  • Moss and Algae Growth — North-facing slopes and shaded areas develop moss colonies that lift shingle edges and retain moisture, accelerating wear
  • Inadequate Ventilation — Older homes lack sufficient ridge or soffit vents, trapping moisture in attics and causing condensation damage to decking
  • Flashing Failures — Chimney, skylight, and valley flashing corrodes or separates after 15-20 years, creating leak pathways during wind-driven rain
  • Granule Loss — Shingles nearing end-of-life shed protective granules into gutters, exposing asphalt base to UV damage and weathering
  • Decking Deterioration — Rotted plywood or OSB from old leaks, visible from attic or during shingle lift inspection
  • Storm Damage — Hail bruising, wind-lifted shingles, or tree branch impacts that compromise waterproof integrity
  • Improper Previous Repairs — Patches using wrong materials, improperly sealed flashing, or shortcuts that create new problems

Valiant replaced my existing roof with a great product at a good pric. Jack and his team were wonderful to work with from getting a free no strings attached inspection to ultimately scheduling in the work and seeing the finished product. The roof on a home I just purchased needed a lot of work done to bring it up to code and general repairs due to negligence from the previous company that installed the roof. Jack was very clear on explaining which issues needed to be repaired asap and very importantly which issues could be ignored for now as they would have a low probability for causing serious issues. This to me is the mark of an honest contractor which to be frank are few and far between these days. Bottom line is if you need some roof help or someone to give an honest opinion/quote for a job, do yourself a favor and give them a call.

Repair vs. Replacement in Felida

A person in a safety harness stands on a roof next to a 3D digital model displaying

Choosing repair or replacement depends on roof age, damage size, repair cost compared to replacement, and how long you plan to stay in the home. A common guideline is to replace when repairs cost more than about 30% of a full replacement , but roof age and your plans can shift that decision.

If your roof is under 10 years old, repairs usually make sense because you still have lots of life left. The same repair on a 20+ year old roof often is not worth it, since that money may be better put toward a new roof that lasts 25 to 30 more years.

Insurance can change the math. If wind or hail damage is covered, your out of pocket cost may be just the deductible. But claims can affect future rates, so consider the long term trade off.

Your timeline matters too. If you are selling soon, a solid repair may be enough. If you are staying long term, replacement often brings better value, fewer repeat repairs, and more peace of mind. In Felida , a newer roof with transferable Owens Corning warranties can also improve resale appeal.

Repair vs. Replacement Decision Guide
Factor Repair Replacement
Age Best for roofs under 15 years with 10+ years remaining lifespan Typically recommended when roof is 20+ years old or has less than 5 years expected life
Damage Extent Localized damage (under 30% of roof surface); isolated leaks; storm damage to one section Widespread issues; multiple leak points; systemic failures like granule loss across entire roof
Cost $500-$3,000 typical; cost-effective when repair is under 25-30% of replacement cost $8,000-$18,000+ for Felida homes; justified when repairs approach 30%+ of replacement cost
Long-Term Value Temporary solution; may require additional repairs as roof ages; doesn’t extend overall lifespan significantly Permanent solution; 25-30 year lifespan for asphalt; 40-50+ years for premium materials; transferable warranties
Insurance Often covered if storm-related; lower claim amounts may not justify rate impacts May be covered for major damage; higher claim but full roof protection; transferable coverage can aid resale
Resale Consideration Adequate for homes selling soon if damage is disclosed and repaired properly Strong selling point; new roof adds value and reduces buyer concerns; transferable Owens Corning warranties enhance appeal

Common Repairs in Felida

High winds can lift, crease, or blow off shingles, especially on edges and ridges. We replace damaged shingles with matching Owens Corning colors and check nearby shingles for hidden creases that can fail later.

Flashing around chimneys, skylights, vents, and wall lines often fails as metal rusts and sealants crack. We remove worn materials, install new flashing, and reseal properly to stop leaks from wind driven rain.

"They were good to work with and very professional. They did what they said they would and in a timely manner."Fred Allen| Read full review

Valleys carry heavy water flow and wear out faster. We remove shingles along the valley, add ice and water shield, and install new metal valley flashing or rebuild the valley correctly.

Rubber pipe boots crack over time and leak around vent pipes. We replace the boot and reseal it so water cannot enter around the penetration.

For storm emergencies, we tarp damaged areas using heavy duty tarps secured to the roof deck, not loose weights. This stops water fast until permanent repairs are completed.

Full Roof Replacement in Felida

When Replacement Becomes Necessary

Replacement timing depends on material lifespan, visible condition, leak history, and future plans. Typical lifespans in Pacific Northwest conditions: Asphalt shingles (20–30 years - Often shorter in wet climates due to constant moisture exposure and moss growth); Metal roofs (40–50+ years); TPO and PVC flat-roof systems (15–25 years).

Visual signs replacement may be needed

Common indicators include: Widespread granule loss (shingles look bare in spots; granules fill gutters after rain); Extensive cracking or curling; Multiple leak points that require frequent repairs ; Daylight visible through decking from the attic. If your roof is over 20 years old and showing any of these symptoms, replacement is likely the economically sound choice.

Other signals homeowners often miss

Energy bills

Energy bills can signal roofing problems too. Poor ventilation and deteriorating decking reduce attic insulation effectiveness, forcing HVAC systems to work harder. A new roof with proper ventilation often reduces cooling and heating costs measurably.

Resale considerations in Felida

Homes with roofs over 15 years old may face buyer hesitation, lowball offers, or demands for seller concessions to cover future replacement. Installing a new roof before listing eliminates these negotiations and positions your home as move-in ready in Felida.

What the Replacement Process Looks Like With Valiant Roofing

Permits and scheduling in Clark County

Clark County building permits are required for all tear-offs. This adds 3–7 business days to project timelines between contract signing and crew arrival. We handle permit applications, pay fees, and coordinate with county inspectors who conduct mid-project and final inspections.

Material selection during the estimate phase

You choose: Shingle color; Style (Duration, Oakridge, or premium lines); Optional upgrades like impact-resistant shingles; Algae-resistant shingles. We show samples and can drive you past recent installations in Felida neighborhoods so you can see colors on real homes.

Installation day expectations

Installation day is loud and disruptive, but brief. Most Felida homes are completed in 1–2 days. Typical build sequence: Tear-off starts early; Old materials are stripped systematically; Decking is inspected and repaired; Underlayment and ice and water shield are installed; Shingle installation begins. Progress is rapid because our in-house crews have completed hundreds of similar projects.

Cleanup and getting back to normal

Cleanup happens daily and at project completion. Magnetic sweeps help ensure nails do not endanger family members, pets, or vehicles. All debris is removed completely.

Materials Used by Valiant Roofing in Felida

As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor, Valiant installs Owens Corning shingles on most Felida homes for strong wet-climate performance and access to top-tier warranties. The materials your roofer uses matter more than most homeowners realize. A well-installed roof with quality materials can last 30 to 50 years in the Pacific Northwest, while cheaper materials may fail in half that time.

01. Primary Choice

Owens Corning shingles (primary choice)

As an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor, Valiant installs Owens Corning shingles on most Felida homes for strong wet-climate performance and access to top-tier warranties (up to 50 years on qualifying systems). Popular options include Duration shingles with SureNail Technology for high wind ratings and built-in algae resistance to reduce streaking in damp, shaded areas. Valiant also handles warranty registration and provides documentation.

02. Low-Slope

TPO & PVC (low-slope areas)

For flat or low-slope sections like garages and additions, Valiant installs single-ply membranes such as TPO and PVC. Seams are heat-welded for a watertight bond, with typical lifespans around 15–25 years depending on system and maintenance; PVC costs more but offers added durability and chemical resistance.

03. Upgrade Option

Metal roofing (upgrade option)

For homeowners who want maximum longevity and low maintenance, Valiant installs standing seam and metal shingle systems (steel, aluminum, and sometimes copper). Metal sheds rain efficiently, reflects heat, resists moss issues, and can last 40–50 years, though it typically costs more upfront than shingles.

Roofing Materials Comparison
Material / Brand Type Best For Warranty Why Valiant Uses It
Owens Corning Duration Asphalt shingle Standard residential; balance of cost, performance, warranty 30-year limited; wind resistance to 130 mph Algae-resistant granules; SureNail Technology; proven Northwest performance; Platinum warranty available
Owens Corning Duration Premium Premium asphalt shingle Long-term homeowners; resale value focus; aesthetic priority Lifetime limited (50+ years); transferable; enhanced wind warranty Deepest shadow lines; best warranty in asphalt category; strong resale value
Standing Seam Metal Steel/aluminum panels Long-term investment; energy efficiency; distinctive aesthetics 40-50 years typical; finish warranties 25-30 years Superior longevity; no maintenance; excellent rain/snow shedding; energy savings
Metal Shingle Profiles Steel/aluminum shingles Historical character; shake or tile appearance 40-50 years material; finish 25-30 years Aesthetics of traditional materials with metal durability
TPO Membrane Single-ply thermoplastic Low-slope roofs, flat garage roofs, additions 15-25 years depending on thickness Heat-welded seams; UV resistant; reflective white surface reduces heat gain
PVC Membrane Single-ply vinyl Commercial applications; chemical exposure areas 20-25 years typical Enhanced chemical resistance; superior longevity; proven flat-roof performance

Buyer's Guide

How to Find the Best Roofing Company in Felida, WA

Hiring a roofing contractor takes due diligence. A roof is a major investment, often $10,000 to $20,000 or more, and choosing based only on price can lead to leaks, voided warranties, skipped permits, and contractors who disappear when problems show up. Felida homeowners should look for experienced, reliable local roofers and verify key details before signing.

In Washington State, roofing contractors must be fully licensed, bonded, and insured. When choosing a roofing company in Felida , prioritize local experience with Pacific Northwest rain and moss, confirmed licensing and insurance, and strong local reviews.

Start by verifying that any roofer you are considering holds a valid Washington State contractor license through the Department of Labor and Industries. Check their insurance coverage to make sure they carry both general liability and workers’ compensation. A company with a 200+ reviews and a 4.9-star average , like Valiant Roofing , has earned that rating over years of honest work and responsive communication.

Certifications matter because they demonstrate that a manufacturer has vetted the contractor’s work quality. An Owens Corning Platinum Preferred designation means the contractor has been evaluated for licensing, insurance, financial health, and customer satisfaction.

Felida Weather and Your Roof — How Clark County's Climate Impacts Roofing

Pacific Northwest weather creates unique roofing challenges. Understanding how Felida 's climate affects your roof helps explain why material choices and maintenance practices differ from other regions.

Rainfall and Constant Moisture

Felida receives 40-50 inches of rain annually, mostly between October and May. Unlike intense brief storms in other regions, our rain is steady and prolonged. Roofs face constant moisture exposure for 6-7 months each year. Even minor flashing gaps or damaged shingles can lead to leaks.

This prolonged wetness accelerates organic growth. Moss spores colonize damp shingle surfaces rapidly. Algae staining appears on north-facing slopes. Lichens establish in shaded areas. Moss isn't just cosmetic. It lifts shingle edges and retains moisture against asphalt, accelerating granule loss and shortening lifespan.

Proper ventilation becomes critical in wet climates. Without adequate attic airflow, moisture vapor from cooking, showering, and breathing condenses on cold decking during winter nights. This saturates insulation, promotes mold growth, and causes wood rot from the inside. Many older Felida homes built before modern ventilation codes suffer these problems.

Wind Events

Felida experiences occasional strong wind events. Autumn windstorms move inland from the Pacific, and rare summer thunderstorm complexes can bring gusts exceeding 40-60 mph. These create uplift forces on shingles.

Proper shingle installation with adequate nailing prevents wind damage. Owens Corning shingles installed to manufacturer specifications using SureNail Technology achieve wind resistance ratings of 110-130 mph. This is well above anything Felida experiences. However, older roofs with deteriorating adhesive strips can lose shingles during moderate windstorms.

Wind-driven rain is more common than pure wind damage. Horizontal rain driven against walls and under roof edges can find entry points that remain dry during vertical rainfall. Proper flashing and ice/water shield installation prevents these leaks.

Temperature Patterns

Felida 's temperatures rarely reach extremes. Summers peak around 80-85°F. Winters bottom out around 30-35°F, with occasional dips to 20°F during arctic air outbreaks. This mild, damp temperature range creates ideal conditions for biological growth.

The freeze line creates specific challenges. Water trapped in valleys, gutters, or under lifted shingles can freeze at night and thaw during the day. This expanding and contracting accelerates wear. Ice damming occasionally occurs on poorly ventilated homes during cold snaps.

UV Exposure

Summer UV exposure affects shingle longevity over 20-30 years. UV radiation breaks down asphalt binders and causes granule adhesion failure. South and west-facing slopes experience more UV exposure and may show aging 2-3 years earlier than north-facing slopes.

Owens Corning's shingles use UV-resistant formulations and granule coatings designed for moderate climates like ours. This engineering extends lifespan and maintains color integrity longer than cheaper products.

Permits and Building Codes in Felida: What Homeowners Need to Know

Clark County enforces building codes through its Department of Community Development. These rules support structural safety, energy efficiency, and long term performance. Roofing work falls under these requirements, so understanding permits helps homeowners plan.

Washington State requires roofing contractors to be licensed, bonded, and insured. A reputable roofing company serving Felida should meet these requirements to comply with state laws and protect homeowners.

Full roof replacements (tear offs): Permits are required. Any project removing existing roofing and installing a new system must be permitted and inspected.

Roof repairs : Usually no permit is required for small, localized repairs like replacing a few shingles, resealing flashing, or fixing a small leak. Larger repairs covering more than 10% of the roof may require a permit.

Re roofing over existing shingles: Permits are required. Some areas allow a second layer over one existing layer, but this is less common due to weight concerns and reduced inspection visibility. Clark County typically requires a permit for re roof projects.

Ventilation: Code typically requires balanced attic ventilation with intake at soffits and exhaust at ridges or high points. A common standard is 1 square foot of net free ventilation per 150 square feet of attic space, split between intake and exhaust.

Underlayment: Ice and water shield is required in valleys, along eaves (extending 24 inches inside exterior walls), and around penetrations. Standard underlayment covers remaining roof areas.

Fastening: Shingles must be nailed with correct count and placement per manufacturer requirements. Wind exposure may require extra fasteners along edges.

Fire ratings: Asphalt shingles are commonly Class A rated. Metal roofing is also typically Class A. Wood shakes usually need fire retardant treatment to meet code in fire risk areas.

Permits help protect you legally and financially. Insurance claims can be denied if damage involves unpermitted work. Home sales can also be delayed or canceled if unpermitted roofing is discovered during inspections. Permits also add quality control through inspections that catch problems before they are covered up.

Valiant Roofing handles permit applications, pays fees, schedules inspections, and ensures code compliance as part of our service.

The Permit Process

What the Permit Process Involves

Application: Contractors submit details, scope, and license info. Fees typically range from $200 to $500 for a roof replacement.

Plan Review: County staff verifies licensing and code compliance. Approval typically takes 3 to 7 business days.

Inspections: Two common checks—one after tear-off for decking/flashing prep, and a final inspection after completion.

Closeout: Once the final inspection passes, a closure document is issued for your property's permanent record.

Red Flag: Your contractor should pull the permit. If they suggest skipping it, they are likely cutting corners.

Frequently Asked Questions: Roofing in Felida, WA

Roof replacement in Felida often ranges from $8,000 to $18,000 or more, depending on roof size, pitch complexity, materials, and decking condition. A smaller home with standard architectural shingles and minimal repairs may be around $8,500 to $11,000. Larger or more complex roofs with premium materials can reach $15,000 to $18,000 plus. These ranges commonly include labor, materials, permits, and standard flashing work. Valiant Roofing provides written, line item estimates.

Most residential roof replacements take 1 to 2 days of active work. Simple roofs may be done in one day, while complex roofs may take two. The overall timeline usually includes permitting (3 to 7 business days), ordering materials (often 1 to 2 days), possible weather delays, and final inspection scheduling. Many projects finish within about 2 to 3 weeks from contract signing.

Yes. Clark County typically requires permits for tear off roof replacements. Minor repairs usually do not require permits, but repairs covering more than 10% of the roof may. Valiant Roofing manages permits and inspections as part of the job.

It depends on roof age, damage extent, and repair cost relative to replacement. If the roof is under 15 years old and damage is localized, repair often makes sense. If the roof is 20 years old or more with widespread issues, replacement usually provides better long term value. Repairs are often most sensible when they are under 25 to 30% of replacement cost. Valiant Roofing provides clear inspection findings and recommendations.

A reputable roofing contractor should have a Washington contractor license, liability insurance, workers compensation coverage, and ideally manufacturer certifications from brands like Owens Corning, GAF, or CertainTeed. BBB Accreditation is also a plus. Valiant Roofing holds WA license VALIARL813LM, OR CCB 227641, and Owens Corning Platinum Preferred status.

Insurance usually covers roof damage from covered events like wind, hail, falling trees, or fire. It does not cover wear and tear, aging, or poor maintenance. Filing a claim may affect premiums, so it is often best reserved for clear storm damage. Valiant Roofing can document damage with photos and work with adjusters.

Architectural asphalt shingles with algae resistant granules, such as Owens Corning Duration, perform well in Felida ’s wet climate. Metal roofing is also an excellent option for long life and low maintenance. TPO or PVC membranes work best for low slope areas. Wood shakes typically struggle in constant moisture unless heavily treated.

We recommend inspections twice per year, in spring and fall, plus after major windstorms, ice events, or tree impacts. Professional inspections can catch issues not visible from the ground.

Yes. Emergency repairs can be done year round. Asphalt shingles seal best above about 40 to 45°F, so non emergency shingle work is scheduled during winter dry spells when temperatures rise. Metal and flashing work is less temperature sensitive.
