Wind Exposure and Ridge Cap Failure
High winds in the Cascade foothills around Fargher Lake often contribute to ridge cap failure, as ridge caps are usually the first thing to lift. A nailed-only ridge cap survives 1-2 winters in this exposure; a sealed-and-nailed ridge cap with proper underlayment survives the full warranty period. Storm-chasers and rural-route handyman contractors almost always skip the sealant step.
